Beth Pittmon, CDA & Front Office Coordinator

Beth has been a part of our exceptional team for 29 years, working directly with Dr. Moore for the past 14 years. Beth is a certified DAII, certified in CPR and is the Front Office Coordinator for our dental practice.

Beth is a native of Kannapolis, NC and is a graduate of Central Piedmont Community College. In her free time, Beth and her husband Clyde enjoy Friday night football games to watch their daughter Maggie cheer and Appalachian State Football games on Saturday to watch their daughter Abby who is a member of the Appalachian State Dance Team.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

AMY SCOGGINS, CDA, OFFICE MANAGER

Amy joins our team with 30+ years in the dental industry. She started her career as a Certified Dental Assistant after receiving her certification from Wake Forest Dental Assisting program in 1987. After 20 years as a dental assistant, she moved into the dental Office Manager role.

Amy has also been consulting in dental offices all over the U.S. She brings great knowledge in comprehensive dental care, as well as excellence in customer service.

Amy’s love for dentistry, her hard work and dedication to her doctors, teammates, and patients earned her a scholarship to AADOM (American Association of Dental Office Management) conference and most impressively, the Patterson Dental Diamond Scholar Award in 2016.

In her spare time, Amy loves spending time with her daughter Lauren, son-in-law Daniel and black Labrador, Oliver. She also enjoys traveling and spending time at any beach with a good book in hand.

Katherine Hicks, Front Desk

Kat has been a member of our team since 2012. She came to us as a dental assistant and after several years moved to the front desk. Her sweet smile and warm personality greet every patient. Kat went to Central Piedmont Community College where she completed her Associate’s Degree.

Kat is a native Charlottean. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Cory, her son, Lucas and daughter Holland.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Jessica Ahlgren, Dental Assistant

Jessica joined our practice in 2016 and has been a DAII Dental Assistant since 2011. She enjoys working closely with patients and loves to help them feel comfortable in the office.

Jessica was born in Sweden and moved to the United States when she was young. Although she is still fluent in Swedish, she received her U.S. citizenship in 2011. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog Tugger, hiking, snowboarding, and traveling to Europe.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Michelle Darroch, Dental Assistant

Michelle has been working in dentistry since 2001, joining Dr. Barrett Moore chair-side in 2015, when she relocated to Charlotte from Wilmington.

In Michelle’s words: “I feel blessed to be here and could not imagine a better or more positive working environment. I respect the knowledge, kindness and excellent skill of our doctors, which enables us to provide the best dental care possible. The teamwork and upbeat attitudes shown from all of the staff make each workday a great day.

“One of the things I enjoy most about dentistry is to see how changing a patient’s smile transforms their lives.”

In her free time, she enjoys every minute with her daughter, Stella, who enriches her life every day, as well as camping, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.

Laura Kasubowski, Dental Hygienist

Laura joined our team in November of 2020. She attended Ferris State University where she obtained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Laura loves building relationships with patients and is excited to get know ours at Uptown Charlotte Smiles.

In her spare time, Laura likes to hike and travel with friends. 

 Connor Borgmeier, Dental Hygienist

Connor grew up in Louisville Kentucky where she graduated from the

University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Although she went to U of L, she bleeds blue for her Kentucky Wildcats!

 Connor relocated to Charlotte in the summer of 2020 and joined out team in 2021. She had been a hygienist for 4 years and is passionate about educating her patients on optimal oral health while building great relationships along the way.

 In her free time, she enjoys staying active in the gym and exploring all her new city has to offer. Including breweries and the never ending food scene, nearby lakes and sand volleyball!
